Accessibility Statement

Smoh is built for people who need help nearby, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is not a formality for us.

Conformance level

The site is built to level AA of the Israeli standard IS 5568, which is based on WCAG 2.1.

How we check it

Not by eye: every page is opened in a real browser and axe-core is run against the rendered page. All fifteen pages of the site are checked — five in each language, not just the home page. Last check — 15.09.2026; no critical or serious violations were found on any of them. The check lives in our repository and runs again on every change to the site.

What is in place

• Text and background contrast verified with numbers, not by eye.
• The whole site can be used from the keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
• Semantic headings and markup, so a screen reader reads the page by structure.
• Large base font and generous line spacing.
• Three languages, including Hebrew right to left.
• Dark theme following the system setting.

The mobile app

Israeli law treats the app as a service too, not only the website, so it is part of this statement.

• Screens are labelled for VoiceOver: buttons, fields and images carry labels and hints — more than a hundred and forty of them today, across some fifty interface files.
• Font size and boldness can be changed inside the app itself, separately from the phone settings, and apply to every screen.
• Chat and voice messages replace a phone call for those who find speaking or hearing hard.
• Large tap targets and a calm pace, for Assistive Access.
• Four languages: Russian, Hebrew, Arabic and English; Hebrew and Arabic right to left.

Honestly about the limit: the app is tested with iOS tooling at every release, but it has not yet gone through a formal audit against IS 5568 — the AA level we state is for the website, not for the app. That audit is being prepared. If something in the app gets in your way, write to us: a real complaint matters more than a formal report, and we fix it faster that way.
